Ruby is a Wisconsin based roaster guided by the notion that responsible business can do good and create value for everyone involved, from the producers they work with to the people enjoying Ruby at home or in local coffee shops.
PERU Organic el Roble - tasting notes : cola ~ dark chocolate ~ baking spices ~ raisins
Organic El Roble is coffee grown by Nima Juarez Aleydy Yessenia. Nima’s farm is in the La Coipa district, part of the famous San Ignacio province, near Peru’s northern border with Ecuador. Nima has almost 5 hectares total across three combined parcels: El Roble, La Quebrada, and El Mango. She lives on the farm with her husband, Keny Yajalwanca Garcia. Together they cultivate coffee first and foremost, but also guava, plantains, and livestock like hens and pigs.

Named for the Reko washing station (which is named for the Reko mountain, itself — a word that means “challenge” in Afaan Oromo, a metaphor for the challenge of producing the highest quality of coffee in the area), Ethiopia Reko comes from the Kochere region of Yirgacheffe and truly is a special coffee.
